ENGL 110C, an English composition class is one of the classes I took that peaked my interest. The objective of the course was to prepare students to be effective writers of the kinds of compositions they will be called on to produce during their college careers. Furthermore, students would be more mature in their understanding and use of language by the end of the course. A specific assignment that stood out to me from the course was an assignment that students were meant to provide an artifact of a visual representation of their writing process. At the end of the assignment, the professor personally emailed me to ask if she can use my work to teach her future students and I agreed. This has happened multiple times in different classes where my work has been used as a demonstration.
This assignment helped me demonstrate my communication and artistic skills through visual presentations. As a visual minded person, I like to challenge myself by trying to turn words into images and this is something I’m very passionate about. My goal is to transfer this skill or ability from a personal to a professional job. In the future, I’d like to be able to incorporate it into my cybersecurity career.
Evidently, this artifact is a representation of my writing process or my visual language about the steps I take to finish a writing assignment.
