The NICE framework is composed of three different components; categories, specialty areas, and work areas which applies across the public, private, and academic sectors. The most appealing categories in the NICE workforce framework is the analyze\/protect and defend sections. I am currently building up my resume to become a threat analyst or cyber defense analyst. Threat analysis involves the identification and assessment of the capabilities of criminal and foreign intelligence and enterprises. Cyber defense analysis is comprised of a variety of sources to protect information, information systems, and networks from adversaries. There are other frameworks like the MITRE ATT&CK created to help build a foundation to develop threat models and methodologies in various sectors. I would love to learn defensive measures to mitigate vulnerabilities on computer systems. I\u2019m interested in the strengthening of an organization\u2019s security posture against domestic and foreign threats. An extensive knowledge of Linux is a requirement of both of these fields, so I\u2019m currently working on achieving my Red Hat Linux System Administrator certificate at Old Dominion University. While I\u2019m also currently working in the cyberspace area for the department of defense. The least appealing category would have to be the investigate section, which is more geared toward law enforcement than cybersecurity. It involves the collection and processes in relation to computer-related evidence. I\u2019m not interested in the preservation or analysis of an event that has already occurred, because I would rather be working in a sector which prevents these events from occurring.
