Module 7 Discussion 7.2

“Tell that its sculptor well those passions read, which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, the hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed” is a quote from Percy Bysshe Shelley’s poem Ozymandias. This quote is talking about a sculptor who created a statue that has long since fell to ruin. It is showing the reader than even the most beautiful pieces of art will become ‘lifeless’ eventually. It could also signify how the king depicted in the statue has long since died and his kingdom is not the same as it used to be, despite him being important and revered in life. The overall message of the quote seems to be that everything will eventually fall apart with time.
