Module 12 Discussion 12.2
Othello is a tragedy, and also a Shakespearean play, so obviously there is going to be bad things happening in the story. The play’s setting so far reminds me of Macbeth, with noblemen in power being the main characters. However, instead of the mastermind being the main character he is the villain of the story. This is a just one of the main differences in the story so far, but it is something that I noticed when comparing this play to others that Shakespeare wrote. I predict that most of the cast will die, because that is par for the course with tragedies. as for things that could have changed the plot of the story, Roderigo could have accepted that Desdemona didn’t share his feelings and moved on, Brabantio could have spoken to Desdemona and Othello and warned them of Lago and Lago himself could have just been a little less jealous of Cassio and Othello.
