I don&#8217;t entirely dislike poetry; I am just not good at poetry-based writing assignments. I think poetry can be very interesting, but most of the time I&#8217;m bad at discerning metaphors. I think writers, and especially poets, have a lot of talent. Writing is hard enough when you don&#8217;t have to rhyme most of your sentences, so I respect their work and I think it has its place in both libraries and schools, it&#8217;s just not the form of writing I&#8217;m most comfortable with.
