My 5 Digital Sources:
- Three articles
- One video
- One podcast
WHAT
The video will allow my audience an instant visual aid to see why millions of Americans are leaving their jobs. It will display all of the contributing factors and help support the argument by the story of the former employees. For instance, the sounds, the colors, and most importantly, the people will cover the views, key points, and ideas. The podcast will provide personal testimonies from the direct author. The laid-off people resigned or decided to work from home for health and economic reasons. Lastly, the articles will explain in detail the reasons why people have left and/or leaving their jobs. This linguistic mode will provide my audience with sound supported documentation from scholarly articles.
HOW
Based on my above mentioned digital sources, the genres must consist of several modes. Modes such as linguistic, visual, aural, spatial, and gestural. For example, the articles will allow my audience more time to read and reflect. The aural/ music sounds from the video will also be fused with the authors voices. All the design choices will reflect a flow of emphasis, contrast, organization, and proximity. The opening video will provide adjusting volumes to fuse emphasis and contrast colors. The articles will display organization and proximity to help guide my audience.
ANALYSIS
The ‘what’ relates to the ‘how’ because the pandemic has impacted everyone. Therefore there isn’t a specific target audience. The method of context will be described through a multimodal of linguistic and visual insertions. My purpose is to connect logically and then emotionally. That is why the organization is important. I plan to start with article inserts and progress to the podcast and conclude with visuals/videos. The most successful texts will be the ones that get multiple reactions from the audience. The pandemic has impacted us all in several different ways. My goal is eject all that through visual images with written captions, and articles (linguistics). Overall I feel videos will be the most impactful, as they can state the arguments, get the key ideas, and tell the story. I look forward to further research and development of the project.
