Cybersecurity studies can be greatly improved by the knowledge of former cybercriminals in many ways. First, knowing where other cybercriminals commonly congregate helps in trying to find and stop them. Second, if their habits are anything like the former criminal helping the researcher it brings cybersecurity studies closer to understanding the human causes and technological procedures of cybercrime. Third, the terminology and info. regarding the dark web could be passed on to subjects in an experiment and see how they react to the content on the dark web because it is not illegal to access. Lastly, the myths regarding a lot of the deep and dark web being dispelled by the ex-con would help beginners just starting in cybersecurity to better understand its scope. Every one of these statements improves and advances cybers security studies. I learned a ton from this video, and I think other students working to get their degree would as well.
