The usual motive for doing things like sending naked pictures of oneself is having low self-esteem, which relates to depression and succorance or seeking emotional support from other individuals. There may also be deterioration in personal relationships and feelings of isolation. Some of the relationships the victim can lose are with family, friends, romantic partners, coworkers, etc. Revenge porn can impact their livelihood and careers. It can seriously damage their children if they are exposed to it. In terms of the isolation aspect, there isn’t really anything one can do once these images get out there, but this has somewhat been improved since revenge porn is illegal in most states and banned from many websites. Still, some people may not want to report it because it might bring the incident to light to people the victim doesn’t want to know about it.
