What are the connections between the disciplines addressing entrepreneurship at ODU?

When I look at the connections between disciplines addressing the entrepreneurship course I think of critical thinking, understanding money management, creativity, and problem solving. All of these disciplines are incorporated with the course. By requiring tasks that go around the bush. Having to think of what If’s and what not’s. This course work’s disciplines, shows what you are strong at and other disciplines you need to work on. I’ve enjoyed learning more about my ability to problem solve, and think outside the box. This class really challenges me!

2.     Is entrepreneurship an art or science?

Entrepreneurship is both an art and science. As it comes with artistic creativity, and a creative mind. It also comes with theories and problem solving skills which can be considered science as it involves the equations of what if this happened what is the outcome. The cool thing about entrepreneurship is it can really be anything. It involves both art and science to put together a great product/invention.

3.     How is failure good?

Failure is good, as it teaches you what not to do next. Understanding where you messed up, or what caused the failure can really help you in the long run to not make that mistake again. Knowing how to climb back from mistakes made, to fix them and make them better is a really good skill to have.

4.     What have I learned from failing?

I have learned most of my life lessons through failing. That failing doesn’t mean the end, but only the beginning. Failures bring out champions. It makes you work harder than you ever thought. It allows you to teach yourself what is wrong and right about a certain thing. It gives you a playbook so that when that failure approaches again you know how to attack it.

5.     What ethical issues might arise related to what I am working on?

Some ethical issues I might arise on are what I’m creating actually going to work the way I want. Not just hypothetically in the minds of the world but in my eyes I am gonna be proud. Is it ethical to profit from it, how will I budget, invest, and continue to grow? Being an entrepreneur is a challenge many ethical issues arise even some that you aren’t aware of yet. But with reason all those issues can be solved in some way.
