What are the connections between the disciplines addressing entrepreneurship at ODU?
The Department of Management at ODU includes entrepreneurship as a discipline.A bachelor’s degree can be earned through this program on or off campus. Is entrepreneurship an art or science?
In my opinion, entrepreneurship is a science. Because both science and entrepreneurship demand focus, data, expert data interpretation, and the acquisition of knowledge for the benefit of humankind. As some IT field hackers are able to reveal the identity of the person whose data they have compromised. In science, we seek truth, and in entrepreneurship, we seek profit potential.
How is failure good?
I’ve heard that certain people in multiple companies have been caught in a cybersecurity failure spiral. Cybersecurity is a difficult issue that must expand far beyond its native technological specialty, into business and support operations, and across regions. Successful cybersecurity transformation takes time due to the requirement to successfully integrate secure practices into the firm’s culture.
What have I learned from failing?
Everyone has failed; those who refuse to recognize it are the unfortunate ones who will fail in the long run without the benefit of learning. Most of my accomplishments appear to have been simple on the surface. But on the inside, I’ve been fatigued, had sleepless nights, and been agitated.
What ethical issues might arise related to what I am working on?
In cybersecurity, confidentiality is a critical ethical concern. Because of the nature of their job, security professionals will come into contact with and handle personal, private, or proprietary information that should be kept completely confidential. An example could be Employees in these areas may be tempted to share whatever juicy gossip they find while performing a virus scan on someone’s hard drive, but doing so could jeopardize that person’s career or personal life.
