It was difficult for us to try to meet in person. Because some of us were hours apart, face-to-face meetings were out of the question. I chose to stay in Northern Virginia. Our primary mode of communication became text messages, which allowed us to easily discuss and keep each other updated.
While Jason was unable to attend our virtual meetings due to work obligations, Mhaliek and I were able to meet and discuss the assignment and the creation of an ePortfolio. Our asynchronous interactions accommodated varying schedules.
However, Hailey’s response was uninvolved, so we assumed she had dropped the course. I’m not sure if Jason and Mhaliek were able to connect on their own while I was unavailable.
Finally, our innovation assignment highlighted the flexibility and resilience required for effective collaboration in a virtual, geographically dispersed setting. Despite the challenges posed by distance, our communication via text and a single virtual meeting facilitated progress in our project, and we were able to complete the innovation research project.
