Progress

Our journey as a group began with its fair share of challenges, but through effective communication and collaboration, we managed to overcome initial hurdles and make substantial progress. This report outlines the key milestones and experiences that shaped our group.

The group faced a tricky start, struggling to reach everyone and establish a cohesive connection. Thanks to the proactive approach of our professor, who provided a screenshot containing everyone’s email addresses, I was able to contact each team member. This facilitated the initiation of conversations around our shared goal of exploring innovative ideas.

Upon reaching out, we discovered that, with the exception of Hailey, we all had a background in the same field of study. This posed a unique challenge, as we needed to find a topic that would engage everyone, including Hailey. Recognizing the importance of inclusivity, we aimed to select a topic that aligned with everyone’s interests and expertise.

The responsibility of proposing potential topics fell on Jason and me. After brainstorming several ideas, we narrowed down our choices and presented them to the group. Fortunately, the team found my proposed topic of supply chain attacks intriguing. However, before proceeding, I sought confirmation from Hailey to ensure her comfort with the chosen subject matter.

Our group opted for a messaging-centric approach to communication, given the challenges of coordinating everyone’s schedules for synchronous meetings. While face-to-face interactions via Zoom were challenging, our group message chat became the primary hub for discussing ideas, sharing updates, and addressing questions.

We maintained open lines of communication, encouraging team members to seek assistance when needed while ensuring that each member did their own work. Despite the initial difficulty in finding common ground due to diverse backgrounds, we managed to choose a compelling topic and establish a communication framework that accommodated everyone’s preferences.
