Being taught about DNA replication, gene expression, and an in-depth analysis of protein synthesis aided me in better understanding the way data that is considered biological is created and analyzed, even in my other courses like genetics and bioinformatics. It also helped me create connections to genetics, specifically regarding mutations and how alterations on a cellular level can have an impact on the organism its a part of. Knowing the way that cells communicate and regulate differing functions exhibited to me how critical molecular mechanisms actually are regarding research and modern medicine. This class increased my ability to read scientific information on a critical level and be able to apply newly learned concepts across my other biology courses. All in all, cell biology helped my overall scientific foundation and exhibited to me the way different areas of biology are actually interconnected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Something critical I learned throughout my course of cell biology was the way cellular processes link to bioinformatics and genetics, which are the areas of biology I have a strong interest in pursuing career-wise.
