The previous assignment from ENGL307T combined writing skills, analysis, creativity, and technical skills to complete. This work involved aspects of music arrangements, sampling, and then publishing as a multimodal project. ENGL307T taught the foundation of electronic writing.

(1) Fun Stuff – Music Composition

ACTIVITY:  PUBLISHING YOUR AUDIO

Finally, the last portion of the activity had us publish the finished mix onto SoundCloud – a music and audio platform.  The music created from this activity can be accessed in the embedded SoundCloud below.

This initial sound production was laid out in sequence at a rate of 70 beats per minute.  Using samples from a Trap genre, I was able to compose a musical arrangement.  Incorporating different sounds and instruments, transitions and hooks could be made.  A total of five channels were used for five unique samples. The free sound was added in the beginning while the voice over at the end was included as the finishing touches to the remix.

Additional enhancements can be made to refine the music. Listed below are some of several that could be done.

• Add vocals to include story telling
• Incorporate further audio mixing with samples from different music genres – example:  pop, country, rock, jazz, reggae, etc.
• Create spatial arrangements that could align the sounds using stereo
• Speed up or slow down the tempo for effect
• Add more instruments or use different key, chords to set mood
