In this course, I was introduced to the foundational concepts of modern information systems, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the major hardware and software components that drive today’s digital environments. I explored the history of computing, learned to perform numbering systems conversions, and studied the roles of system and application software, networks, and the Internet in shaping modern technology.
Beyond technical fundamentals, the course delved into the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), databases, business intelligence, and an introduction to programming, equipping me with the knowledge to analyze and solve complex information system challenges. I also examined critical topics like information security, privacy, and ethics in the cyber world, gaining insight into the broader implications of technology on society.
This course provided me with a strong foundation in information systems, preparing me to navigate and leverage technology in both technical and cybersecurity-focused roles.
