Activity Summary 1

While being at the Garden of Eden Health Center, I have gained a multitude of experience with connecting with patients and becoming familiar with a couple of faces that have become like family to me. The Garden of Eden has also taught me how to branch out into different aspects of health care, like billing, the clinical aspect, and more.  During my first 100 hours at the facility, I have also learned clinical skills that have helped the workflow. As an intern here, some projects that I have worked on are InBody and Wix. InBody is a technology machine that tracks weight loss and the many different components of the body. I had to get certified in order to help the practice get patients on the machine after their appointments. Doing this has also helped me with one of my goals of becoming more confident in interacting with patients. Another project I have been working on while I am there is their Wix, which is directly connected to their website. When I first started my internship, my job was to clean and update the Wix so that it showed accurate information, and it was updated with all the sessions they would have for their BeWell classes. To improve the information on the website, I updated our clinicians tab and made sure I kept the events tab up to date with the events that would be held. Some knowledge and skills I have gained during the first 100 hours are learning how to schedule patients, learning how to use AthenaHealth, and how to open/close the facility.
