I do not think Russia buying ads on Twitter and Facebook necessarily constitutes a cyberwar. It is obvious that what they did was not at all right, but it doesn’t constitute a cyberwar. I think it should force us to try to think about how our social media apps are programmed and how we can better protect them. Russia buying ads that would be seen on Twitter and Facebook in order to influence our presidential election in 2016 was not at all ethical. They never should have interfered with our elections. It was unfair for the other opponents in the election. The ads influenced the opinions of many Americans. Which leads to the question of how the presidential election of 2016 would have turned out differently if those ads were not out. Would Hilary Clinton have been our 45th president?  I believe Twitter and Facebook had the ability to stop those ads. I think they should be more careful and mindful of the ads they are allowing to be on their sites. There should have been a way for these companies to get certain information like who is purchasing the ads space and the reason for the purchase of ads. Now because of what happened, we should find ways to improve the way people can buy and put ads all over our social media. What I am trying to say is even though what Russia did was completely unethical and unjust the fault is partly our own.
