I think VPNs have more advantages than disadvantages, but only when it is used correctly and safely. By this I mean there are people who use free VPNs to simply get around the geo-restrictions but when doing this they put their online information at risk. Free VPNs aren’t as safe as VPNs that you must pay for. Free VPNs often don’t have the correct encryption to keep all your private information safe. When the correct and safe VPNs are used, they can protect your online private information, hide things like your IP address, and bypass firewalls to allow you to go passed certain restrictions. People in countries like China and India have to download VPNs to go pass their government’s strict rules on free speech social media platforms.
