Different cultures were present throughout the entire course. Mostly, these cultures were Spanish, Argentinian, Mexican, and a few other Latin American countries. Most of the time, we learned about different cultures through stories, movies, and articles from different countries. For example, I am going my final project on the movie “La historia oficial”, an Argentinian movie about an illegally adopted child who might be from a forced disappearance. Below is an excerpt from that project.

“Luis Puenzo nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina el 19 de febrero de 1946. Empezó a producir  para anuncios de televisión en Argentina en 1965. Puenzo y su compañero Sergio Tamburri construyeron Luis Puenzo Cinema pero cambiaron el nombre a Cinemanía S.A. en 1974. Durante los 1970s y 1980s, directores de cine estaban escondiéndose del gobierno porque tenían mucho control de la media, televisión, y las películas. Esta película sobre este tiempo en Argentina ganó muchos premios incluyendo el “Academy Award for Best Foreign Film”.”
