In this article, “Social Cybersecurity An Emerging National Security Requirement” by Lt. Col David M. Beskow and Kathleen M Carley, we learn a lot about the importance of adapting cybersecurity into our present and future lives to prevent risks as well as their insight through expertise guidance and experience.
In the article, they highlight social cybersecurity as a critical element of one- not just social or cybersecurity, but as one component. By using social cybersecurity, you are understanding the role human factors play in these risks. For example, our human cognitive thinking. Our physiological responses as well as behavioral patterns. By analyzing these variables, scientists are able to determine if here is a correlation between one another. Diving into cybercrime, we must say that an individual shows signs that they are prone to committing such crimes before doing so. With advanced technology, such as AI, and algorithms, we may be able to electronically detect if someone is going to become a cyber criminal before they do attempt it. Our only issue would be determining how accurate it would be, as well as considering privacy rights. This is an example of what I implemented when reading the articles “enabling changes” subject.
