His career demonstrates digital forensic investigators must have technical expertise and have the capacity to interpret digital data within the social context because human behavior influences digital crimes. In this case, Teo’s profession requires him to understand criminal psychology and social trends. He also has to understand the ethical consequences of digital print investigations so his actions could be morally upright. In such roles, the social sciences provide crucial insights into people’s motivations for engaging in cybercrimes, their interaction with digital spaces, and the societal impacts of digital crimes.
Most importantly, Teo in his TedTalk, Teo mentions that digital forensic professionals should use multidisciplinary approaches in handling digital forensic issues. The strategy entails applying technology knowledge and evaluating human behavior to understand the motivation for digital crimes. As such, his career path depicts that the digital forensic profession is a technical field that requires professionals to understand human nature and motivations, social structures, and social justice deeply.
