There are many factors to put into place when comparing cybersecurity risks in two different countries. Some of which include economic, cultural, and geopolitical factors. It is well known that the United States is highly advanced with technology. Over the years, technology in America has increasingly developed and adjusted to cybercrime and cyber risks. Some cybersecurity risks facing the US include Social engineering attacks, cyberbullying, cybercrime, and ransomware attacks. Social engineering attacks in America are being targeted towards businesses and individuals. A good example of social engineering attacks in America is phishing. Phishing is when an attacker poses as someone they are not to steal personal information from an individual. The second risk that the US is facing is cyberbullying. This goes along more with cybercrime, but it has increasingly become a problem America faces each day. It is very easy for people online to attack another in disguise which needs to be stopped and prevented. Cyber crime in America is becoming more and more of a problem. It is important that cybersecurity workers understand how to detect threats and risks. The last risk that America faces is ransomware attacks. Ransomware attacks focus on organizations like healthcare and target them. Comparing the US to the UK is a bit different. The attacks are pretty similar but the targets are different. In the UK social engineering attacks are similar to the US because they target businesses in a form of phishing. In the UK there are attacks made on the financial sector. Those attacks include stealing data, fraud, and finance attacks. In conclusion, while there are similarities between both countries, there are also differences.
