It does not benefit anyone and is illegal when it goes too far. Recording a call without consent is a very serious offense. It is illegal to record anyone without them knowing that they are being recorded. It is an invasion of privacy and can be used for things such as blackmail. Faking your identity online has become a huge problem that can lead to a serious offense. In the dating app scene and all social media, faking your identity is called “catfishing”.  People upload a picture of someone else who is not them, fake their biography, and age. People can hide behind a screen to bully people and fraud them into believing they’re someone else.
