About Me
I enrolled in an Engineering Technology degree with ODU to better prepare for the job market in four years. I would like to continue to support on the ship building or ship repair function once retired.
Navy ships not only have to remain floating on seawater, but they must also fight through that fluid. We take from the sea for cooling, making fresh water, designing sanitation and firefighting systems and, fuel transfer is at the heart of aviation, propulsion and energy generation.
The first few weeks of fluid dynamics have already opened my eyes to factors I had not considered before, such as, when we go into a room and spend days figuring out if we have the right material, capability or design for a specific repair.
Putting my self in someone else’s shoes often leads to understanding and cooperation. This course will allow me to better understand the constrains, quality control and design that go into what makes a warship work.
