Hello, my name is Ethan Kishinevskiy, and I am a student of Mechanical Engineering at Old Dominion University. When I came to ODU in the fall of 2021, I was originally an electrical engineering student, but then transferred to mechanical engineering and fell in love with it. My area of interest in engineering is the efficient simulation and modeling of mechanical engineering problems, specifically computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and numerical methods.  My academic goals at ODU include a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering technology, a master’s in mechanical engineering, and hopefully, eventually, a doctorate.

Fluid mechanics, which I am taking this semester, is a fundamental part of what I will do in my career and in my educational goals. After all, it is my area of interest for my career, so I’ll need to know it well. That is why I am excited to take this course so that such an intriguing area of engineering can be demystified for me, at least a little bit.
