Compare cybersecurity risks in the U.S. and another country.
Cyber security is a major and growing problem worldwide that affects many countries. The United of States is the country with the highest rate of cybercrime with 23% of all cybercrimes occurring here. When reading and doing research on different countries, there are many reports about the top cybercrime countries, however, there are two major cyber attacks that are most common in the United States, the first one being malware. This is any program that is created in order to harm a computer or system. The reason this is such a common cyber attack is because malware covers man subsets of attacks such as: viruses, ransomware, worms, spyware, or trojans. The second most common cyber attack in the US is phishing. This type of attack uses some ones email, text messages, phone number, or social media in order to access sensitive information such as passwords or account numbers. This type of attack also relates to downloading viruses on peoples computers or phones. When comparing cybersecurity risks to other big countries, such as China or Russia, there are some similarities. China, like the US, is another country with a high risk to cybersecurity risks. One of the most common attack methods if email spamming, this makes up 72% of all emails sent around the world (Gudkova, 2013). China is one of the top spam sending countries in the world with Brazil coming right behind them. One thing that surprised me was that Russia, although the biggest country in the world, has one of the lowest cybersecurity threats in the world. These are just a few of the comparisons of cyber security risks in the United States and other countries around the world.
