There are seven different motives to explain why people do the crimes that they do. The seven being entertainment, political, revenge, boredom, recognition, for money, and for multiple reasons. According to myself, i believe that the motive that makes the most sense is between money and for multiple reasons. I believe the most common motive for crime is because of money because that’s what most crime is entails, whether it is robbery, or murder, most of the time they all trace to someone owing someone else money or someone needing money simply because they are in a poor financial situation. I also believe multiple reasons goes along with this because i think that money will almost more then certainly always be one of those few reasons to do a crime along with other motives. The next motive being revenge, we see this all the time happening around us in just small pity crimes or large murder cases, all revolving around the fact that someone did something to someone else physically or emotionally, and the victim feels entitled to take action into their own hands to get their justice. The next motive after revenge should be political, because although we don’t see it or hear about it much in the news, there is always political and white collar crime going on all around us due to someone else trying to gain an edge over another candidate. The next motive on my list is recognition, and we see this most of the time in gangs or crimes such as vandalism, in which someone does something so big that they get on the news or they try to prove something to someone else in order to grow their name in that side of the world. The second to last being entertainment, in which i do believe that a lot of people do small crimes such as harassing because they are simply just bored and can’t find anything else to do with their time. Then I believe the last motive world be boredom, because I can’t see that many people having no other motive to do a crime other than boredom, because it just doesn’t make sense in my mind and i don’t see how it would for anyone else..
