Social Sciences

Whilst reading this article, I came to the conclusion of 3 different social sciences, the first being sociology because it plays a crucial role in understanding Iraq’s digital workplace. It examines how individuals, groups, and organizations perceive and prioritize cybersecurity measures. Factors such as trust in technology, organizational culture, and social norms around information sharing can significantly impact cybersecurity attitudes in the Iraqi digital workplace, especially dealing with small groups. The second social science is political science which is essential when people analyze cybersecurity landscape within their digital workplace. The last social science I found was management science. This brings insights into compliance roles and other practices concerning cybersecurity.

This article was written by a very good and well known organization, so for this reason, they have a variety of different research methods. They use simple yet effective strategies such as surveys and questionnaires, interviews, case studies, and qualitative and also quantitative analysis.

Types of Data and Analysis

Like I said in the previous paragraph, there and qualitative and quantitative analysis data. In qualitative analysis, they do things such as thematic or content analysis, which can be used to analyze interview transcripts, survey questions, and other qualitative data sources. The next is quantitative analysis which includes statistical analysis, and can be used to analyze survey responses and other numerical data collected through a variety of research instruments. They do this by exploring relations between variable and testing hypothesis to find patterns that will relate to cybersecurity attitudes, policy effectiveness, and better behaviors.

Article Relating to Class

The article can relate to the class in a variety of different ways. The first being sociology which relates to our class because students can explore how attitudes towards cybersecurity are shaped by cultural norms, organizational structures, and interpersonal dynamics. The next is policy studies because students can analyze the roles of governments regulations, intergovernmental relations, and compliance mechanism in shaping cybersecurity outcomes in Iraq’s digital workplace.
