
Michelle Thornton is a Certified Medical Assistant working at Dinwiddie Medical Center. Michelle wanted to indulge in a fresh new start from working a factory to transferring to the medical field. She worked in an office for 14 years assisted by a Primary Care Physician to help get her certification of being a Medical Assistant. Michelle’s basic role of being a medical assistant is being a caregiver and helping 30-40 patients a day. She assists patients by checking their vitals signs, providing medication, and with their diagnosis. Michelle also explains that the center she works is a ‘primary care clinic’ which means they take patients daily or every three months. Michelle is surprised as she got far into career since left nursing school as soon as she left high school and got back into the nursing field. Michelle loves her career and is happy that she found the motivation to join the medical field after some time.
