Short Arm of Predictive Knowledge

No one has the ability to predict the future. We are able to make educated guesses due to things such as data, trends, and things of that nature, but not everything is certain. This same concept can be applied to the world of cyber security and technology itself. Technology is constantly evolving day by day. With new technological advancements coming out by the second, it is hard to grasp how much technology will change over a period of time. The same can be said about the side of technology that is used in wrongful ways. We are not able to predict what types of cyberattacks that can or will be committed in the future. Given the “short arm” of predictive knowledge, the best way to appraoch the development of cyber-policy and infrastructure is to focus on these things in a present stance. Instead of preparing for the far future, it is best to focus on what we can work on now to keep us the safest. Keeping your policies and infrastructure up to date will help prevent misfortune. If they are continuously updated, they will adjust alongside any technological developments and other events. Although this will not prevent every single cyberattack, it will at least prepare the company from the possibility of something happening.
