My name is Frederick Gervacio. I am a first-year cybersecurity student at Old Dominion University. Originally from New York City and of Dominican heritage, I hold a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and have spent 10 years working in IT. I started working as a Help Desk Support Technician for a couple of companies, and my last role was as a Technical Support Engineer for 3 and a half years.

I’ve always been intrigued by cybersecurity, but without formal training or experience, I haven’t been able to pursue a career in it. My goal now is to deepen my education and acquire the skills necessary to work in cybersecurity.
