Interestingly social cybersecurity differs from traditional cybersecurity because it involves people using technology to hack other people versus using it to hack other technologies. As a multidisciplinary computational social science, it combines theories from disciplines like sociology, communication science, forensics, anthropology, and psychology. Sometimes referred to as cognitive hacking this emerging discipline is necessary to understand in order to defend the security of the United States and it’s position worldwide.
