The next 50 hours involved me doing the majority of starting classes on my own. I learned how to launch and manage classes on my own with the assistance of another advisor to help me through the process. I started fixing technical issues on my own without needing to rely on the supervisors or our IT team. This was something that greatly showed how much I had learned from my job experience working with IT and the ODU online. I could manage most things on my own and did not need as much assistance. However, It also showed me how to work as a team with the IT and ODU online staff. We managed everything through Microsoft Teams. It is a collaborative work software, you can create channels and other subcategories in it. We had our daily, weekly, and monthly logs in there. In addition, we also kept links to all professors’ contact information and room setups from remote classes outside of Gornto Hall. This helped us manage classes that we may not be able to reach easily. All of these helped me learn a collaborative effort as a team.

Having Microsoft Teams allowed us it mitigate many of the risks and problems we have faced when running online classes. I remember the number of times we had incredibly quick fixes to problems since we were connected directly to the IT team. The IT team would help reset codecs and help fix physical equipment incredibly quickly. That was mainly because we were able to diagnose many problems we faced quickly. After we had an issue that we did not know the answer to we would automatically contact the IT department. If a classroom would disconnect we could add them back easily. If the cameras or displays were not working prosperity the IT department would investigate it right away and we would put the professor in another classroom. The IT department would help put issues that I or other operators may not be able to fix in a quick way.

Working as a team helped me learn what it would take to manage multiple operations at once. This also let me learn what it consisted of if I were ever to lead my own team in the cybersecurity field.
