Writing Reflection Two –REFLECTION (five points)—this particular text should summarize your writing experiences in UNIV 150 throughout weeks six through twelve. In particular you will address your midterm score in comparison to your incoming score, noting growth that has taken place; then discuss your plan to achieve writing success in weeks thirteen through sixteen. Include discussion about plans for the final exam.

UNIV 150 from weeks six through twelve has gone by smoothly as I have been keeping up with my assignments as well as paying attention in class for assignments and upcoming dates. The class is going by a lot easier than I expected at the beginning of the semester. I have taken my midterm and am satisfied with the score I received and the improvement I have made. I still have more time to improve before the final for this class.

On my midterm I scored a 95% which was surprising to me as my instructor said It would be graded like the final is graded. I was thrilled to see my score and know I have improved. I failed the writing placement test and this proves I have improved greatly and will continue to improve on my writing. I have gone to the writing center and have gotten help with my assignments making sure I can get good feedback for my assignments.

For weeks thirteen through sixteen I plan to continue what I am doing now as it seems to be the most effective way to approach. I will continue to obtain help for reviewing my assignments and plan on taking more time to complete my essays. I plan on starting my assignments earlier than I have been completing them, just so I have more time for revision and other assignments.

For my Final I am going to study tremendously. I am confident, but not cocky about this final. As long as I continue to improve and stick to improving my writing I believe I will pass with a good grade. I plan on taking a lot of planning and focusing more on structure and vocabulary choice. I am going to see what my instructor thinks is the best approach for the final as well as some tips.

I am very satisfied with how the semester has been going for me and my UNIV 150 class. I had a little trouble adjusting, but have learned how to approach my classes and workload. I plan to continue on improving my writing skills and want to have a good rest of my semester that will have lots of hard work.

An updated editing skills checklist is required for support

Journal #6 The vaping crisis where there are reported 6 deaths are not giving full detail to viewers. The victims of each case just reported that the vape was doing it, however none of the victims would give the names of the products, or which company the liquid vape juice was from, or even where they purchased these items. The doctors have said the same things to each victim, “Whatever you’re smoking on is doing this.” The rise of fake black market THC carts have been on the rise where people will buy a syrup like liquid that they believe is only THC. Where in reality manufacturers can put anything in the cartridge that is the same color and is almost syrup like and sell it on the dark web.

Journal #7 We depend on technology too much this day in age. Some people can’t do basic math without using a calculator. Normal people these days would not be able to live on their own if all technology and communication went down. Basics such as finding water and being able to make a fire should be known. Another aspect is that younger people are developing issues with their social skills because the only way they know how to talk is through the internet.

Journal #8 My major is Cyber security. I want to pursue a career as a cyber security analyst for a major company in D.C. The decision was based on my knowledge and interest in computers and cyber security thanks to my grandfather, who has worked a government job under the cyber security department. I’m also aware of the rise and demand of cyber security specialists and the average salary of a position in said field. I am currently taking one class related to my major, but I plan on taking a lot more in the future.

Journal #9 California allowing NCAA players to make money off of their name and brand is a great decision. Tremendous amounts of schools are making thousands of dollars because of their players, but the athlete sees none of it as it was against NCAA rules. Players can now make money from merchandise, products such as video games with the athlete in the game. Some say being a student athlete at a university is a full time job but without being paid, now athletes are able to have a source of income since simply do not have the time to work with training and classes taking up most of the day.

Journal #10 I’m thrilled for next semester at Old Dominion. I am planning on rooming at the new dorm housing building called Owens. Although I do not know who I will be rooming with yet i’ll figure it out sooner or later before the time comes. I am excited for the classes I am going to be taking next semester, but at the same time nervous as I know the courses are only to get harder from here on out. A plus side is that it is going to be spring into summer with warmer weather coming eventually. I can’t wait to see how the University looks in the spring and all new editions to the campus as well.
