Psychology has always been a subject I have always just “gotten” . It just makes sense to me and its almost like common sense for me I was pleased that I received an 86 on the first exam but then I became frustrated because I realised that if I would have studied just a tad bit more I would have gotten an A and not a B+. I skimmed the chapters and highlighted key information and then looked over the exam review so I know if I would have actually studied per the review I would have easily gotten an A. I felt the test was was directly from the text and the modules. It wasn’t a test meant to trick you which is something I appreciate very much! So for anyone who will be taking this test I would just say to read and study the review and answer the review sheet and you are guaranteed to do well on the exam.

The connection between music and relationships is undeniable. Music has always been a huge part of my life I mean I was singing along to the radio before I could even talk to my parents and have somewhat of a conversation with them. I feel that people can connect through music because it’s something a lot of people have in common…if you like my music I like you nine times out of ten. “My people” as in friends and my boyfriend all listen to the same types of music and are always going to see live music even if that means traveling and lets be honest at that point we might go just to have the excuse of traveling to a cool new place. Music brings people together because you can always connect to a song which connects you to the ten or ten million other people listening to that song feeling the exact same way as you.

I have learned a lot about myself these last few years at Old Dominion. Freshman year was a very rude awakening call for me, I have always been good at school. Sounds weird but I could show up to class and listen and get a B on every test and then college came along. I found myself struggling in my classes because I actually had to apply study habits to be successful and that’s something I learned the hard way. Currently I am a MUCH stronger student with much more confidence because I know that I have what it takes to do anything I set my mind to. I’m a big believer in you get what you work for and I’m a very hard worker so I feel as if I can accomplish anything as long as apply myself. If I applied myself a little more I would be a straight A student. Unfortunately I can be quite the procrastinator when it comes to school but on the flip side of that I work best under pressure, so when it’s crunch time I’m the most efficient because I know exactly what has to get done and exactly when it has to get done. So knowing this about myself I will probably always procrastinate a little bit but I try to not let everything wait until the last minute. I have started to keep a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule so that I can pick and choose what needs to happen first.

I decided to show the results from the self – efficiency  quiz because we can all grow in some way, shape, or form. Never settle on where you’re because you can always be better.

When I started to read through the model titles and the syllabus I became more and more excited because I love learning more about myself and other people on a cognitive level such as psychology . These skills are what sets you apart from other people especially in the workforce. People with strong interpersonal skills are usually the ones climbing the corporate latter much faster and much more efficiently because they understand people and how they need to manage themselves and other people. I expect for this course to make me question my way of thinking and to make me do a little soul searching to see how well I think I know myself and to figure out the type of person I am so that I can learn new strengths and weaknesses of mine so I can become a more well rounded person. I actually enjoy this textbook so I plan on actually reading it to comprehend it instead of reading for the test. I hope to also work ahead a little bit so I have a little bit more time reviewing before an assignment is due or a test is coming up.
