Reflection Activities
As a part of this course we were required to complete an assignment titled communicating supportively. I went into this assessment with the idea that I would come out with a high ranking result. I ended up facing obstacles when it came to the area of giving criticism. Ever since this experience I have tried to come off less condescending when it comes to giving criticisms. I do this through focusing on “I” statements instead of “you” statements. I also try to really evaluate how my message will be received before saying it. I could end up drawing on this experience in my future career when deciding what plan of treatment is best for a patient. In the future as I mentioned I will try to make sure that my message comes off less confrontational. Attached is an image of my reflection on my results after completing the assessment.
In the following video I reflect on my leadership course, including the key experiences and concepts I took away from this process and how the information learned will be useful in the future, especially when considering future settings in which I may regularly collaborate and communicate with others
