After watching the video, write a journal entry about how you think the media influences our understanding about cybersecurity?
The media sometimes wrongfully impacts and misguides many people in their understanding of how everything works. For example, in the video, when it first opened up, what came up was the fact that how cybersecurity workers work is wrongfully constructed. In movies, it’s portrayed that the workers work in an open space when a device is brought into their work, but as the true cyber veteran explained, they usually open it up in a lab environment, not in the middle of their agency office as the movie portrayed. Other types of methods, such as codes, are depicted in some of the scenes. Although they are presented to be true, such as a polymorphic code, what is wrongfully portrayed is a HEXADECIMAL code. Overall, the media tries to go far away from what is truly being accurately presented just for their own good.
