Complete the Social Media Disorder scale. How did you score? What
do you think about the items in the scale? Why do you think that
different patterns are found across the world?
On the social media disorder scale, I scored mostly a no or answered no to most of the questions, as although social media is something that can be very useful, it can also be very negative. I do not let it consume me or take over my life. I am able to do things such as play a certain sport like soccer, basketball, boxing, volleyball, etc. without being heavily involved with social media at all. All in all, the different patterns that can be seen across the world in terms of the usage of social media may differ from those in the U.S., and some countries, as compared to the U.S., may not be as technologically advanced for them to make social media something of a. Some cultures probably ban the excessive use of phones and how much social media influence is displayed.
