During the Spring Break 2018 I had the opportunity to travel to France and visit Paris for several days under the Paris-Auschwitz study abroad of Old Dominion University. During that time, I visited sites relating to the holocaust but I also had the opportunity to visit Parisian sites that were extraordinary. Some of these sites included the Eiffel Tower and the restaurant where Walt Whitman often enjoyed his meals. The people of Paris, France were very understanding and kind to help an American student. This was true for me when, during my free day, I visited a laundromat in order to wash my clothes. This was several blocks from the hotel and I had trouble finding the place. However, the Parisians were able to help me locate the place and operate the machines (the directions were all in French). My time in Paris was outstanding, the food great, and the times there unforgettable

My progress through the CMU program seems to be steady as the work continues throughout the semester. I am slowly learning French, even though my current skill level is extremely low. This is a learning experience with the technical aspects of the course, however this should broaden my horizons. The reading of the language is fairly easy however the comprehension can be worked on for me. I look forward to learning more about the French language and culture as the semester continues.

The course progresses well as we continue to delve into the pronouns of the French language. However, since all of this is new to me, it will take some time getting used to this new part of the language. In addition, the homework is progressing well and I am caught up on all of the homework and the discussion questions. It seems to be getting easier and I am studying hard for the test on Friday. The CMU program is also going smoothly as I continue to progress with that program.  I look forward to passing this class and graduating in May of this year after I complete my foreign language requirement.

This has been an interesting few weeks as the university and the community have adapted to coping with the Covid-19 virus. My studies in French continue to progress and I am learning as we continue with the lessons in the CMU program. I look forward to the second talk abroad because the first one was interesting and I enjoyed speaking with someone in French from a different country. I also look forward to uploading the website because I have never done something like that and it sounds interesting. Hopefully, things will continue to stay sane as we continue to adapt to life with the current environment surrounding Covid-19.

I have been very busy these past few weeks handling things around the house due to the recent outbreak of Covid-19. However, my progress in the course continues and I look forward to completing this course and graduating despite all of the recent troubles. I have been enjoying the CMU program and the journal entries. I have also been working on my website and this continues to progress smoothly. I am not technically oriented but I am working on it to the best of my ability.
