TalkAbroad Impression #1

Talk Abroad #1
The talk abroad went very well, and it was a new and interesting experience. I was able to have a unique conversation with Genevieve Bellerive and understand what she was saying. Also, the conversation was fun in the way that it was great to speak to someone in French from another country. My initial thoughts were hesitant considering my novice experience with the language, but my speaking partner was able to speak coolly and calmly, along with myself, and it was an outstanding learning experience.
In addition, the talk abroad was able to expand my vocabulary as we used the transcript and branched off into our own conversation. We spoke about our studies, family, favorite restaurants etc. in French; this was a good way for me to expand my personal vocabulary in the French language. This was a good conversation in the way that I was also able to grasp the imparfait and the passe compose. I did not expect myself to do this, but I believe I was able to do this in a way that I was able to understand and flow with the conversation.
My plan of action for the remainder of the semester is to be able to continue my studies and expand my vocabulary for the second conversation. I also plan on delving into the CMU program and to continue my tutoring sessions with Kelsey at the learning assistance center. With all of these combined I should be able to continue with this course and not only improve my grade but also graduate in May. Overall, my plan of action for the future is to continue to study with the CMU program, continue my tutoring with Kelsey at the Learning Assistance Center, and to pass this class.
