1. Studying a world language is, I think, the first step in becoming one’s developed self; not just in terms of education and technical ability but on a thought-and-speech level that I think makes us more sympathetic, relatable, and willing to explore on a mimetic level.
2. I’m really enamored with French culture, especially French-language literature and cinema, which is some of the best in the world. My own studying gave me a very rudimentary understanding of French and it was not until college that I had an opportunity to take a course in it.
