Integrity and strong work ethic are values that are important to my career goals.  To be honest, those are values that should be instilled in everyone.  Throughout my life, there have been several experiences that pushed me toward going to college and earning a degree in psychology:

  1. I had a wonderful teacher in high school during my senior year, Mrs. Hightower.  She taught social sciences and psychology.  The passion she had for the subject was captivating, and it peaked my interest.
  2.  I had to complete a salary comparison study in high school, which made me realize that I could have significantly more money if I completed a college degree.

After completing high school, going to college was not an option.  My parents, teachers, and group of friends expected it.  I did well in high school because I knew I wanted to go to college.  I took AP courses so I could get college credit and graduate sooner.  My peer groups’, family, and instructors’ expectations of me gave me the confidence to actually pursue a degree in higher education.

The title of this picture is “Life of an Online Student”.  I titled the picture that because I feel like I learn so much online that it literally spills out of the computer and overflows into my life, which is an excellent and fulfilling educational experience.
