Cybersecurity & Social Science
CYSE 201S, Cybersecurity and Social Sciences, is a course that looks at how cybersecurity affects people and society, not just computers and networks. It focuses on the human side of security, including behavior, psychology, social engineering, privacy concerns, and how technology shapes everyday life. We explore why individuals and organizations make certain security decisions, how cyber threats influence social systems, and what role culture, communication, and trust play in keeping information safe. The course blends technical concepts with social science perspectives to show that cybersecurity is not only about tools and defense, but also about understanding people.
