The cell I chose to draw is an odontoblast cell. This is a eukaryotic cell. Odontoblast cells are located in each tooth in a single layer along the inner surface of the dentin. The odontoblast cells form a thin layer between the dentin and the pulp of a tooth. The function of these cells is to help maintain the dentin and assist with tooth repair by filtering out decayed dentin. They are also the dental pulp’s immune defense against bacteria and pathogens. I chose to draw an odontoblast cell because my career goal is to become a dentist. This cell is essential in the field I want to go into because it forms and repairs dentin.
