I have a very large diet with sports media consumption. I have been addicted to sports for as long as I can remember. For example, I am a huge LSU fan, so in 2020 I decided I wanted to make a LSU fan page on Instagram. So everyday I was consuming LSU sports media news. Not only was I consuming it, I was also posting the news. My page was called LSU.UNITED and it got up to 12 thousand followers at one point. In the past I typically only used Instagram for social media. So I would see posts on there about the NFL, NBA, NHL, and so on, but now I use Tik Tok and X which is just more sports media for me to consume. I will also watch the shows like First Take and College Gameday all the time which is more sports media consumption. So in the past five years I would say that my consumption and or diet has only grown larger and larger. Some changes that I see in the next five years is honestly just more consumption. I love sports and I honestly just don’t get tired of watching and consuming it. More and more athletes take to the media weather that is social media or now a lot of athletes are starting podcasts.I predict that more and more shows will be created to help cover media. Part of me also think that the media could also shrink. Lots of these big media outlets are very competitive and get other people or companies shut down because they want all the media to themselves. If I could wave a wand and change to the sports communication landscape, it would be that it wouldn’t be so competitive and or political. A lot of people get in because they know people, not because of their talents(this is from a perspective of creating media) From a consumer stand point I would change how many different subscriptions you have to have with all these different companies to be able to watch the medias. As of now you got to buy Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Youtube and so on, it is crazy and it is hard to be able to consume the sports media when it is so hard to pay for it all.
