My life experiences with my education has been challenging because, of my ADHD and learning disability it has been a journey people just don’t understand. I graduated from High School in 2013 From Norview High School and, that was a true milestone because to honest I don’t think I could have made it without God and from my support system my parents and family. I than moved on to continue my education at TCC which is known as Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, Virginia I choose to attend a community college first because, I felt like I needed to find myself within me and also in my career path itself I wanted to know what I wanted to major in and still attend College. Meanwhile, I had the grades to attend a four year University I didn’t want to waste my parents hard earned money to attend college and not do well even though I know I would excellent. I graduated from TCC with a associates degree in Social Science in May of 2016 that made my parents, family, and I feel so good deep down inside knowing that I accomplish something when people even teachers told me that I couldn’t learn nor would ever be anything in life. I decided to continue because, I had a dream and I knew I wanted to purse a degree from ODU just like my older sister did which is my role model. My great support system which are my parents are the greatest I’m fortune to have them and they have the resources to support me and my sisters because, they went to school and work hard and have great careers to support me and encourage me to go beyond the norms of African- American young female. My family has been a great help and support though me education path and, I’m blessed to have my parents through this huge journey. My future goals are to finish ODU with a bachlors in Psychology go on and purse a Masters degree and the, to hold my PsyD either as a forensic psychologist or a counselor. I also, even dream of becoming motivational speaker and to have my own support group one day.
