With Criminal Justice and cybercrime, there is an overlap, given the many commonalities that are found, and apparent within both. With this, as cybercrime refers to illegal activities carried out through the use of digital technology and or too, the internet, with some notable examples including: hacking, phishing, identify theft, and fraud; a correlation can be seen within that of criminal justice, considering similarly, the legal system, as well as law enforcement may be involved in both cases, in this regard, to address crimes. In addition to this, investigations, as well as prosecution, and too, deterrences may also be ways in which these overlap, being as with cybercrimes, and with criminal justice, these aforementioned aspects may all be present. Beyond this, with this overlapping, it may relate to other disciplines discussed, such as that of White-collar crime, and victimization as well. With White-collar crime, there may be an overlapping with cybercrimes, being as with them, they in turn may affect the same victims, such as that of businesses and consumers, and too, have specialized police units designed to respond to them, given the specific police units that handle typical white-collar crimes such as economic and environmental crimes, have been developed similarly, in some police departments, as the cybercrime, and digital forensics units. Moreover, with victimization, as this involves the process or act, of someone being harmed, exploited, and or mistreated, usually in this regard, by another individual or group, this could potentially overlap, and relate with White-collar crimes, and cybercrimes as well, considering from a victim standpoint, a large number of victims may be negatively impacted as a result of these crimes; and in some cases, may not even be aware of and about the occurrence of their victimization, in an immediate sense, but rather may find out long after the event occurred.
