You must include the assignment submitted in HLTH 101 regarding your Learning Style Self Assessment
- Describe your current methods of study. How do you study for each class? I study for each class by first, categorizing which classes I’m having the most difficulty with the ones where I don’t need that much help. For the classes I need more help in I will look over quizlets and little study sites that make it easier for me to learn information. For all of my classes, I look over the information that the professors have provided and some of my teachers have videos on a way to do certain things, like my chemistry class, so I’ll listen to videos.
- What specific techniques do you use in class? The specific techniques I use in class are making sure that I’m paying attention, and taking notes on things that I feel are important.
- What specific techniques do you use outside of class? The specific techniques I use out of class are looking at the course material that the professor gave and taking notes on things that I may have missed in the class.
- Identify one class in which you are doing well (not HLTH 101). What study methods work best and why? I am doing well in the chemistry lab. The chemistry lab teacher is very hard to understand sometimes, so to study for that class I review the experiments beforehand and I look over the course videos.
- Identify one class where you are experiencing challenges and address the following questions.

The class I’m experiencing challenges in right now is chemistry, the lecture class. I believe it’s because you basically have to learn everything yourself. strategies I plan to use are going to more of the office hours and gathering study groups with the people that I know also have trouble in the class. I plan to study about 3 hours, about 3 times out of the week. I should spend more time on the lecture slides that are given. I am not struggling with my motivation to study, I am taking advantage of all resources that are given to me. I can get my confusion clarified by talking to my professors. I don’t have any confusion remaining, after I get the specific questions answered.
- What is one new technique you could try in class to help you better understand the material? One technique I could try in class to help me better understand the material is having open communication with professors and active listening.
- What is one new technique you could try outside of class to help you better understand the material? One new technique I could try using out of class is time management. I feel like I always don’t have enough time in a day to do certain things.
