Experience

Starting off as a low level maintenance electrical technician, i have gained the knowledge and understanding to see how the electrical plant works from its most simple component all the way to the most complex systems.  Ranging from mechanical to electrical components, the understanding of integration in this technology was key to a successful career in the military.  These systems include the automation of switchboards and heavy machinery, which went down to the smallest component in circuit cards in the controlling consoles and troubleshooting all components such as pumps, generators, pumps, and the ability to use all of these systems in tandem.  Once proficient in this field, my responsibility shifted to the training of new sailors in order to maintain long term capabilities.  This was done successfully and was tested with training cycles conducted by higher authorities in the Navy that tested the new sailors knowledge and skills in an evaluation environment with multiple 99% passing scores over the course of 3 years during certification cycles. The success from these milestones helped speed up my promotion process and lead to the achievement of reaching the Rank of E-6 in 5 years.  I’ve decided to pursue a career in Cybersecurity for i feel i have a good grasp in the foundations of automated systems, and the importance of making sure these systems stay in healthy stable environment goes hand in hand with the Cyber security measures we need to take before our adversaries do.
