Students in the College of Health Sciences are advised to have a Parallel Plan. A Parallel Plan can help address the question of “what if I do not get into my intended major?” One option for a parallel planning is selecting a Parallel Major.
In this assignment each student will be asked to answer/identify each of the following:
My parallel Major I choose is a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
I choose the Criminal Justice as my parallel major because I still want to be able to make a difference if the nursing program doesn’t work out. I want to be able to solve crimes and help prevent crimes. Additionally, I want to help try to seek justice for people that have been wrong convicted.
- Poverty: The majority of people in prison are poor
- Voter Disenfranchisement: In most states, those convicted of felony crimes are barred from voting for a period of time after their release; in some States, they are banned for life.
